In the Netherlands, as in some other European countries, donating a kidney to a stranger means receiving a vital healthy kidney quicker for those in need. So-called cross-over kidney donations enable incompatible pairs to find compatible donors using special software. This is exactly what Roy Rodgers and his mother Vera are doing in Rotterdam.
