In 2023, more than 60,000 South Korean pupils were victims of bullying at school. Twice as many as five years earlier. That same year, Pyo Ye-rim, a victim of bullying, decided to speak out about her experiences on social media, triggering a nation-wide debate. Sadly, Pyo Ye-rim committed suicide in October 2023, shocking many and highlighting another national problem: the high rate of suicide.
