Mozart: The Magic Flute

Festival Aix-en-Provence 2026

154 min

Available until 20/07/2029

For years, The Magic Flute has been one of the most frequently performed operas at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. After an eight-year absence, Mozart’s work is now back in a production by Clément Cogitore. The French artist interprets the plot as a modern coming-of-age story: Tamino and Pamina leave the world of childhood behind and enter a reality in which beauty is fragile and truth uncertain.

Leonardo García-Alarcón, conducts the Cappella Mediterranea, the Chœur de chambre de Namur and the boys’ choir of the Dortmund Choir Academy.

Ths star-studded cast comprises: Sabine Devieilhe in the role of the Queen of the Night. Brindley Sherratt as Sarastro, Mauro Peter takes on the role of Tamino, Ying Fang sings Pamina, and Sean Michael Plumb brings his favourite role, Papageno, to life.
