After sixteen years in power, Viktor Orban has lost the support of the Hungarian people. The right-wing populist prime minister was clearly defeated by his conservative challenger Peter Magyar in the parliamentary elections on 12 April. Magyar, a former member of Orban's Fidesz party, won over two thirds of the seats.
