In Austria, around a third of homeless people are aged between 18 and 30. Many of these young people spent their childhood in hostels or foster families. When they become adults, they lose their child welfare benefits and are left to fend for themselvesand with no stable accommodation or employment, these careleavers often struggle to make their way in the world.
