In October 1972, the young members of a Uruguayan rugby team and their families travelled to Chile for a friendly match. But they never reached their destination: their plane crashed at an altitude of over 4,000 metres in the heart of the Andes. What followed was an ordeal that is difficult to imagine as the surviving passengers tried desperately to stay alive. The documentary includes extensive commentary from survivors of the crash, decades later.
