Ireland - the new home for many American students

Since September, Irish universities have welcomed a growing number of American students. Ireland is attractive for many reasons. Students are looking for alternatives due to the Trump administration, fees are a lot lower then in the US and solid cultural links; around one sixth of Americans have Irish roots. Students are also attracted by the politcal engagement of some institutions, particularly their support for Palestine. In the capital, Dublin City University has seen a 60% increase in applications from American students.
