Greece is investing in gallium production

In this mine in the heart of Greece, bauxite is extracted and then transformed into gallium. It is the only production site in Europe for this valuable mineral, which is essential for manufacturing solar panels, mobile phones and LED lights. With this project, Europe aims to end its dependence on China for its supply of gallium.
