Glaciers are important reservoirs of freshwater for mountain regions. Once the ice disappears, the consequences are immediate for people, industry and agriculture. In Switzerland, scientists and engineers have developed a model that means that snow can be produced using melt water, to recover the glacier and slow down its regression. This report comes from 3,000 metres above sea level in the Bernina mountain range with glaciologist Felix Keller.
