Iraq in the Crossfire
60 min
Available until 18/11/2027
In 2014, to halt the onslaught of Islamic State, Iraq created the Popular Mobilisation Forces, majority Shiite militias, incorporated into the state military forces to protect the country in its desperate hour of need. These majority Shiite units, with links to Iran, have not disbanded and have enormous influence in the country, causing instability. Documentary filmmaker Anne Poiret investigates.
