At just 26, Olivia de Havilland took on the big Hollywood studios after World War II. The ruling enabled all actors suspended while fighting during the war to be able to renegotiate their contracts. After two Oscar for Best Actress, in 1965 she became the first woman president of the jury at Cannes. She led a colourful, glamourous life, and passed away at 104.
